The federal government of Somalia Issues the following types of passports to its Citizens.

• Diplomatic Passport (D prefix)
• Service passport (S prefix)
• Ordinary passports (P prefix)

Any passport or travel document NOT issued by the Somali Government and does not have the national emblem of Somalia is hereby declared invalid and forgery document and shall not be allowed for travel.

The Immigration and Citizenship Agency of Federal Republic of Somalia is the only entity who has a jurisdiction to issue passports or any other travel documents and provide any services related to it.

No other entity/organization or agency whatsoever, shall claim to provide these services in any place in the world whether in Somalia or outside Somalia.

No Somali citizen under any circumstances can hold or travel with any other type of Somali passport or travel document other than aforementioned passport types (with the exception of the go home travel document for Somali refugees)
